This November, the Civic Theatre Playhouse will transform into the magical Land of Oz as Hive Youth Theatre and more than 50 talented local young performers bring the beloved classic The Wizard of Oz (Youth Edition) to life on stage.

Audiences of all ages will be swept away on Dorothy’s unforgettable journey down the Yellow Brick Road, joined by her loyal companions—the Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion, Toto, Glinda the Good Witch, the Wicked Witch, and more. With dazzling costumes, show-stopping songs, and heartwarming performances, this production promises a theatre experience full of magic, music, and wonder.

Directed by Francesco Bertoni and Bridget Ponman, this enchanting show features talented young performers aged 7–15 from schools across Lake Macquarie and Newcastle, all bringing their energy and creativity to one of the world’s best-loved musicals.
