Hunter Drama presents a full range of workshops across Newcastle, Cessnock, Lake Macquarie and the Hunter focusing on drama and musical theatre education. The programs are run with world-class drama and musical theatre syllabi designed to cater to each age group and skill level, from 5-18+ years.

Professional tutors facilitate supportive, inclusive, energetic and fun drama and musical theatre classes which aim to build confidence and creativity in every student. Programs are run during school term times.

Enrolment should be within the first two weeks of term and it is recommended that new enrolments take place in term one or term 3 so that students have time to learn and work together on the performance opportunities that are scheduled for mid-year and end-of-year. Every child has the opportunity to perform on stage at the end of term 2 and the end of term 4.

As a Hunter Drama student, there are opportunities to audition for high-quality productions that are staged at the Civic Theatre or Civic Playhouse in Newcastle or at Performing Arts & Culture Cessnock, giving those who dream of a professional career on the stage, a chance to experience the audition process and what it’s like working in real theatre.
