🔆A season of food, culture, music and community connection.

City of Newcastle Community Planning & Development (CP&D), together with the Jesmond Working Group, invites young people, families, neighbours and fun‑seekers to Village in the City – Jesmond 2026, a vibrant three‑part community series at Jesmond Neighbourhood Centre and Heaton Park.

Designed as a City of Newcastle initiative and led by the local community, Village in the City brings people together through food, music, art, culture and shared experiences. The program strengthens neighbourhood connection, reduces isolation, and creates welcoming spaces where everyone belongs.

The June event proudly aligns with Refugee Week 2026 theme ‘A Million Stories’, supporting Council’s commitment to celebrating cultural diversity as part of the Neighbourly Newy Program.

🔮What to Expect

• Local entertainers, cultural performers and hands‑on workshops

🤝 Why It Matters

Village in the City builds on Jesmond’s strong community spirit, cultural diversity and growing networks of local support, while also recognising the unique pressures residents are navigating.
