If you’ve never been to Bolton Point Park and playground before, you need to. Getting out of the car we immediately felt a sense of peace. This playground is located on a point of Lake Macquarie and has perfect views all around. Looking over to the bridge at Toronto the lake was still and peaceful. As we wandered along the path away from the playground it was quiet and the view stretched for miles. What a great place to enjoy a picnic or BBQ lunch.
Bolton Point Park directions
Bolton Point Park is located at 68A Middle Point Road, Bolton Point. There is lots of parking available at the end of the street. You’ll find the community centre, toilets and water bubblers here as well as plenty of seating and BBQ’s.
Park & picnic area
As the kids play you’ll enjoy the endless lake views. There’s a shelter that houses a couple of BBQs and plenty of picnic tables dotted around the park to sit and have lunch. With lots of grass to run around on, make sure you pack a ball. There’s also a paved pathway ideal for scooters or bikes. This is one of the most peaceful, and beautiful viewpoints in Lake Macquarie.
Bolton Point Playground
With a double slide, rope bridge, and a small climbing wall, the kids headed straight to the playground. They jumped straight onto the small climbing frame and used the steering wheels to drive off on holiday. There’s a few mushroom-shaped stepping stones to jump across as they head to the cargo net or spider web. With a nest swing, baby swing and older child swing there’s more than enough to go around.
An accessible fishing platform is a new addition to the area. Take your rods and some bait and teach the kids how to fish. Make sure you put Bolton Point Park on your list of places to visit with your family. Check out more parks and playgrounds around Lake Mac in our Out & About section.
