If you’ve never visited Bolton Point Park and Playground, it’s definitely one to add to your list. As soon as you step out of the car, there’s an immediate sense of peace and calm. Sitting right on a point overlooking Lake Macquarie, the park has beautiful water views in every direction. Wander along the pathway away from the playground, and you’ll find even more peaceful spots to stop and take in the views, with the lake stretching out into the distance. It’s a lovely place to slow down, enjoy the scenery and settle in for a picnic or BBQ lunch with the family.
Finding Bolton Point Park
You’ll find Bolton Point Park at 68A Middle Point Road, Bolton Point, with plenty of parking available at the end of the street. Once you arrive, you’ll find the Bolton Point Community Centre, toilets and water bubblers, along with plenty of seating where you can relax and take in the peaceful surroundings. There are also BBQ facilities available, making it easy to pack some food and enjoy a family lunch while the kids make the most of the playground and open space.
Bolton Point Playground
With a double slide, rope bridge and small climbing wall, the kids will be eager to head straight into play mode. They can scramble across the climbing frame, hop between the mushroom-shaped stepping stones and use the steering wheels to imagine they’re driving off on their next holiday adventure. There’s also a cargo net and spider web to climb, offering plenty of opportunities to test their balance and skills. When it’s time to slow things down, the playground has a nest swing, baby swing and a swing for older children, so there’s plenty of fun for everyone.
A peaceful place to play and explore
An accessible fishing platform is a great new addition to Bolton Point Park, giving families another way to enjoy the beautiful Lake Macquarie surroundings. Pack your fishing rods and some bait and spend some time teaching the kids how to fish, or simply enjoy watching the water and taking in the peaceful views. With the playground, BBQ facilities, open space and stunning waterfront setting, Bolton Point Park is well worth adding to your list of family-friendly places to visit.
