Family fun at Edwards Park Playground in Booragul

With a huge grassed area, for running or playing, the kids will love this park and it’s wide open space. Edward Park Playground has a spectacular view across Cockle Bay. It’s picturesque setting, and relaxing atmosphere, is the perfect spot to unwind after a busy week. Once you step out of the car, you’ll instantly slow down and the weight will lesson on your shoulders.

Getting to Edwards Park

If you’ve been to the Museum of Art & Culture (MAC), you’ll know First Street in Booragul. First Street turns off Five Islands Road and runs all the way through to the MAC. There isn’t any toilets at this park, however just a short walking distance up the road, you’ll find toilets located near the Sailing Club (closer to the MAC). This park has a few covered tables and plenty of parking at the playground.

I’ll be honest, my eyes went straight to the small boat. With moving steering wheels, and easy access in and out, the little ones will have a ball playing here. The large play structure includes nets, slides and sections for climbing, as well as balance steps. There’s a small roundabout, nest swing, regular swing, and toddler swing, plus a small spring bouncer for the younger age group.

We highly recommend stopping by Edwards Park for some sunshine, playtime and enjoying the outdoors. It really is a spectacular part of Lake Macquarie and one you should add to your list.
