Join Fire and Rescue NSW for their family friendly open day!

Grab your helmet, get your sirens blaring, and head out to meet the firefighters at your nearest Fire and Rescue NSW station. You’ll be welcomed behind the scenes to see the trucks in action and learn about the equipment that keeps our communities safe. Discover what it takes to be part of Australia’s busiest fire and rescue service. This is a day the kids look forward to every year!

Home Safety & Bushfire Preparedness

Watch your kids’ faces light up as a firey lets them take the wheel of a real fire truck—you’ll be wishing you were a kid again! While they let their imaginations run wild, take the opportunity to chat with the crew from Fire and Rescue NSW about home fire safety. You’ll come away with valuable advice and practical tips to help keep your family safe.

It’s also the perfect time to think about bushfire preparedness. Do you have a plan in place? Now’s a great opportunity to learn what you need to know, get organised, and feel confident heading into summer.

Put this in your calendar

All Fire and Rescue NSW stations will be open on Saturday, 9th May 2026, from 10 am to 2 pm.

Many of our local stations will be firing up the BBQ for a sausage sizzle, and rumour has it, the kids might even score a little treat too!

Check out the list of local stations below, with participating locations highlighted for the open day.
