Lake Macquarie’s Living Smart Festival (finished)

This year’s Living Smart Festival, and Living Together Festival, are promising to deliver a jam-packed schedule of activities, demonstrations, workshops, live performances, and more! Both are family-friendly events with programs including sustainability, permaculture, upcycling, sustainable eating, and First Nations learning.

The Living Smart Festival will be held on Saturday 16th, and the Living Together Festival on Sunday 17th September at Speers Point Park between 9 am and 2 pm.

Living Smart Festival

This year Lake Macquarie welcomes Craig Reucassel, the Logie award-winning presenter and comedian. He’ll be bringing his War on Waste message to Lake Mac. You’ll find him on Saturday on the main stage at 10 am, and then in the Tent of Big Ideas at 11:15 am.

Feast For The Senses

An evening of incredible outdoor dining experiences with all food prepared by OzHarvest chefs. You’ll enjoy a two-course meal made using sustainably sourced ingredients. The menu features vegetarian options to help protect the planet. Any leftovers will be redistributed to people in need. While you’re eating you’ll be entertained by The Hot Potato Band.

Living Together Festival

Make sure you head to Speers Point Park on Sunday to enjoy a range of demonstrations and activities. Learn a new recipe at the international cooking classes, new words at language sessions, or a new skill at a demonstration. The program on Sunday includes:

  • Tent Of Big Dreams
  • First Nations Zone
  • Mindfulness Zone
  • Kids Zone
  • Community groups, markets, and stalls
  • Eat Zone

Getting There

There are FREE electric buses that will be transporting attendees to the Living Smart Festival. There’s a shuttle route from Toronto, Croudace Bay, and Glendale.
