Want to hear some fantastic news? Valentine Hydrotherapy Swimming Pool has reopened its doors after a long closure. The pool was closed for almost a year due to the impacts of COVID and remedial work that was required on the pool and buildings. This much-loved community pool can once again welcome visitors. The hydrotherapy pool and the 25-metre pool are the first to open. The 15-metre pool has had work undertaken on the roof to make it safe. It’s now in the process of being heated up and cleaned so that it can be once again enjoyed by our young swimmers. Staff, community volunteers, and local businesses have worked hard to get the pool back up and running. We know our local community has big smiles on their faces once again.
Hydrotherapy and public swimming
The Hydrotherapy pool is available for use. You must contact the swimming pool to book an appointment on 4946 8522.
With new regulations coming into play, Valentine pool is in the process of hiring lifeguards to ensure safety. At the moment, the pool is open only for exercise including walking and lap swimming. There is no general admission for free swimming. Once lifeguards are in place, Valentine pool will be able to resume service as normal.
Valentine Swim School
The team at Valentine Swim School are so excited to be back teaching swimming lessons and squad training to our community. Children are being taught in the hydrotherapy pool and 25-metre pool. As soon as the 15-metre pool is ready lessons will once again resume in there. The team at Valentine Swim School have been busy trying to contact everyone to ensure all kids are back into their swimming lessons but as you can imagine, this is a mammoth task. The Valentine Swim School has a new computer booking system which will send you a confirmation email once you book lessons. You’ll receive an invoice via email and can choose to pay by bank transfer or at the swim school office by EFTPOS or cash. How good is this!
Aqua Fit
We get lots of enquiries about Aqua Fit classes so we know they’re popular within our community. There are two classes per week running currently. These are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12 o’clock. Once the 15-metre pool reopens more classes will be added to the timetable.
COVID safe
All Valentine Swim School staff have received COVID safe training. Staff will social distance from children where there is no impact on safety. When you enter the pool you will need to scan a QR code on your smartphone. You’ll have to do this twice as the pool and the swim school is two separate businesses. It’s very straightforward using the camera on your phone. There’ll be one parent per child allowed access to the pool while your child is participating in swimming lessons.
