Nestled at the southern end of Norah Head Beach, Norah Head Rock Pool is one of our children’s favourite places to visit. Protected by surrounding rocks, this shallow tidal pool with its sandy bottom offers a safe, sheltered spot for kids to splash and play. You can relax on the sand and easily keep a close eye on them.
Parking, access, and facilities
You’ll find Norah Head Rock Pool at the bottom of Bald Street in Norah Head. A small car park sits close to the beach, with a larger one located at the top of the hill. Be prepared, the walk down is quite steep if you park up high. This is a popular destination, so arriving early is recommended. Although Norah Head Beach is not patrolled, toilets are conveniently located just behind the rock pools.
Scenic walk along Lighthouse Beach
From Norah Head Rock Pool, you can follow the path that continues along Lighthouse Beach. With the ocean on your left, enjoy a scenic walk across the sand. As you approach the end of Lighthouse Beach, the landscape opens to a rocky shelf filled with countless rock pools, perfect for curious kids to explore. Allow a little extra time for this stunning walk.
Visiting Norah Head Lighthouse
Once you reach the beach below Norah Head Lighthouse, look for the wooden steps on your right. Following them will lead you up to the historic lighthouse, where you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views across the coastline and ocean.
