Perfect for younger riders, Speers Point Park has a dedicated riding track. It’s a great spot where kids can practise their skills in a safe, relaxed environment. The flat, paved track is ideal for little ones learning to ride, building confidence, and cruising around with friends. Grab a seat nearby and watch them practise their turns and find their feet on two wheels. Just keep an eye on them, because before you know it, they’ll abandon their ride and make a beeline for the adjoining playground!
Where to find the track
Located at the western end of Speers Point Park Playground, near Creek Reserve Road, you’ll find this awesome little track. There’s parking available at this end of the park, as well as in the main car park. This makes it easy to access both the playground and riding track. Just make sure you park in the designated areas and avoid the spaces reserved for boat trailers. Rangers check this area quite regularly.
A mini roadway adventure
The track is designed to look like a ‘real’ roadway. This gives little riders the chance to practise their skills while having plenty of fun. There’s a small roundabout, petrol station, parking area and plenty of road signs to navigate. Kids will love weaving around the traffic cones and tackling the bumpy sections as they ride. There’s plenty of space to zoom around, especially on weekdays when the bigger kids are at school. It’s a great spot for burning off energy and building confidence on wheels. Visit on a weekend, though, and you might have to deal with the occasional traffic jam as the track fills with little riders!
Ride, explore & get lost
Connected to the bike and scooter track is a fun maze filled with twists, turns, and plenty of spots to explore. Kids can weave their way through, discover hidden corners, play games with friends, or ride straight through. It’s a great little adventure when they need a break from the main track. Throughout the playground, paths connect the different areas, making it easy for kids to ride from one adventure to the next. If your kids love being on wheels, there’s plenty here to keep them moving, exploring, and having fun.
Make a day of it at Speers Point Park
Close to the track, you’ll find undercover picnic tables, bins and water bubblers, with toilet facilities just outside the playground. There’s also a nest swing nearby, making it easy to keep both riders and non-riders entertained. It’s handy when the kids have different ideas about what they want to do! Pack some snacks or a picnic, as there’s plenty to explore and you’ll probably end up staying for a while. Or grab something from the nearby café and settle in for a relaxed family outing.
