Enjoy a sunset play at Belmont South Foreshore Playground

This playground offers an abundance of space with a million dollar view.  Belmont South Playground provides the perfect relaxed, family friendly environment for a sunset play and a picnic dinner. If you’re lucky enough, you’ll get to watch the birdlife feeding in the shallows on a low tide. It’s a favourite spot for pelicans, black swans and Eastern Great Egrets. Come for a play and stay for the atmosphere, because it doesn’t get much better than this on a cool summer evening.

Getting to Belmont South Foreshore Reserve

Belmont South Playground is located on the Pacific Highway at Belmont South. It’s easy to find. There is a dedicated car park, toilet block, electric BBQ, plenty of seats, plus space to throw a picnic blanket.

We love visiting late in the afternoon and enjoying a sunset play. Why not grab some fish and chips from Belmont or Blacksmiths and enjoy a casual picnic dinner?

The playground has everything they need. It’s not massive but it’s enough. Kids can enjoy the multi-function play equipment, a spinning rope climb, a see-saw, and swings. One swing is for toddlers.

Kids will play for a while but end up at the shoreline fossicking. Nothing quite beats nature. The trees in this park drop lots of things, they can collect and use their imagination to play with.

A little slice of paradise can be found down at the foreshore. Plan an hour or two for quality family time, fresh air and a magnificent sunset over Lake Macquarie. It’s a one in a million view.
