Budget-friendly Christmas centerpiece that lights up your table

A frugal Christmas doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the things that make the season special, like dressing your table. Creating your own Christmas table centerpiece is easy, fun, and brings the same festive joy. It’s a rewarding project to do with the kids, and you’ll love the personal touch and impact it adds to your family celebration.

Supplies

We kept it simple this year and shopped only at Kmart. Here’s what we used, but feel free to customize your centerpiece to fit your table size and style:

Instructions

This project is all about simple layering.

  1. Start with the base: Fill your jars with pinecones and baubles.
  2. Add the lights: About halfway up, make gentle circles with the string lights.
  3. Secure the layers: Add more pinecones and baubles on top to hold the lights in place.
  4. Repeat across jars: Bend the string over to the next jar and repeat the layering process for your entire display.

Make sure the lights are evenly distributed throughout the jars. For this project, we used just one string of wire lights.

Light Up Your Table

You can go for a natural, elegant look like ours, or choose a bright and cheerful colour scheme to really make your table pop. We kept it simple with just pinecones, and they look absolutely stunning on their own. Your Christmas table can add so much magic and warmth to the festivities, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere for family and friends. With a little creativity, the possibilities are endless. You’re only limited by your imagination.
