Bunya park playground & community garden is the heart of Eleebana

You might have caught a glimpse of it as you drove by, however, Bunya park playground offers much more than you’d expect. We think it’s the heart of Eleebana, that carry’s a sense of community in the air. It’s not until you step foot into this park that you experience all that it offers.

Getting to Bunya park

On the corner of Macquarie Drive and Cherry Road, you’ll find Bunya park playground. There’s a small amount of parking along Cherry Road, and easy path access. Discover a new undercover electric BBQ facility and seating, plus a bubbler. Complete with a toilet block, this park had everything a family needs to spend a little or a long time here.

Enjoying Bunya park playground

We love the playground, the whole area feels very inviting. There’s a decked platform around a big tree for the kids to perform on. The kids will also have fun on the cool obstacle course. The main play equipment has ample to play on for the younger kids. Plus, kids will find a balance board, and double swing set.

Warners Bay Community Garden

We’d heard about the community garden, but have never visited. The local community have done such a great job caring for these gardens. Everything is so healthy and growing well.

All the community are welcome. Be respectful, take only a little, leave some for others, and consider contributing your time and skills to help the garden grow.

We didn’t take anything. Instead, we enjoyed the walk through, noticing the strong sense of community and commend the group for their effort. Love where we live.

Marks Oval Playground gets an upgrade and the kids love it!

This playground looks and feels different from a standard playground in Lake Macquarie. Built from a wood ‘look-a-like’ structure, it blends into the surroundings and natural landscape. It was interesting to hear the kids comment on its unique character as well, that’s why Marks Oval Playground is worth the visit.
