Hidden amongst shady trees near spectacular Blacksmiths Beach is a playground with everything. If you’re looking for a casual morning out, or just need to grab some fresh coastal air, then Blacksmiths Playground is a must visit. We loved the relaxed atmosphere, the equipment and the proximity to the beach. After we checked out Blacksmiths Beach, the Breakwall and Grannies Pool, we enjoyed chillin’ at the playground on a blanket. The perfect place to stop and have some fun.

Getting to Blacksmiths Playground
On the Pacific Highway at Blacksmiths, turn at the traffic lights into Gommera Street and follow it right through to the round-a-bout. You’ll see the carpark straight ahead. The playground is to your righthand side.

What’s at the playground?
The main castle has everything from a slide, wobble rope grab, monkey bars and climbing walls. The kids will also find a fireman’s spiral pole, bridge and toddlers play area underneath. Additional equipment includes:
- Double swing (one for a toddler)
- Ride-on digger
- Wobbly surfboard
- Dual bounce seesaw
Toilets are located at the SLSC only a short walk across the carpark. There are bench seats on their own or tables with seating scattered around the playground. You’ll find plenty of grass to spread out a picnic rug and why not grab some fish & chips from the café on the corner.

Blacksmiths Beach, Grannies Pool & Breakwall
While your at Blacksmiths we highly recommend checking out more local attractions to do with the kids. Only a stones throw away is Grannies Pool, a protected tidal inlet which provides a safe swimming area for little ones. You can also take a walk out along Blacksmiths Breakwall and enjoy the amazing views or enjoy a swim at the beach.
