Marks Oval Playground gets an upgrade and the kids love it!

We’ve driven past a few times and didn’t notice the new playground. Maybe it’s because this playground looks and feels a little different. Built from a wood ‘look-a-like’ structure, it blends into the surroundings and natural landscape much better. It was interesting to hear the kids mention this as well.

Getting to Marks Oval Playground

The playground is located on Floraville Road. You can access Floraville Road via the Pacific Highway at Belmont, or Violet Town Road in Tingara Heights. You’ll find off-street parking at the playground, toilets, and a few scattered shelters for tables and benches. There’s plenty of room to spread a picnic rug out as well.

Adjacent to the sports oval, I’m sure this playground will be well used during the soccer season.

Play equipment for little kids

My kids headed straight for the spinner. Kids have always got time to try and make their siblings feel sick spinning them super fast.

For the toddlers, there’s a spring-based car and stepping stones leading to some beans. Kids can practice their balance while underneath them is soft shredded woodchips.

You’ll find a few small stairs up to a slippery dip and a nest swing for two kids to swing on together.

Older kids can climb

The nest swing is a favourite with my kids, and the single swing is nice and low for ease to get on all by themselves.

The rest of the play equipment is built for the climbers. They’ll find a rock wall, rope walk, ladder and horizontal section at the top of the climbing cube. My monkies loved it!

Mark Oval Playground

We loved the size of this playground, it’s not very big, but just right for a morning of play in the sun. Bring a soccer ball to have a kick around, pack some lunch, and relax outside with your family. Make sure you avoid the playground during the weekend soccer games though. It will not only be busy, but parking may get difficult as well.
