Kids love the spacious Cooranbong Reserve Playground

Kids on the western side of Lake Macquarie, have an awesome playground in Cooranbong. Not far from the Elephant Shop, this playground is the talk of the town. One of the most picturesque settings, the playground is surrounded by gorgeous trees, creating a harmonious blend of nature and fun. Find this playground on Freemans Drive, just past the Elephant shop. This playground has a designated parking, BBQ facilities, bubblers, toilets, and plenty of seating and space to lay a rug. 3 sides of this playground are fenced and gated, protecting little kids from both traffic and water.

Playground inclusions

The playground is nestled into the natural environment with sandstone blocks, woodlike art, seating, and soft woodchip underfoot. We loved the winding scooter track, complete with stop/giveaway signs, and traffic lights displayed along the way. Kids will also love exploring the tall climbing net, swings, carousel, wood boat, water play, lazing hammock and sky tower.

Everything from a giant enclosed slide to water play and loads of space to run around. It ticks all the boxes for kids and of course parents too! While you’re in Cooranbong stop by the Elephant Shop and take the kids to experience the famous swing bridge. They are both a ‘must-see’ in Cooranbong while you’re here.

Cooranbong Swing Bridge & Elephant Shop

The Cooranbong swing bridge has loads of history and charm. Designed by the factory manager, you’ll find it hidden at the back of the old Sanatarium factory. Its sole purpose was for the workers to go to and from work daily. Read about the swing bridge, the Elephant Shop, and a gorgeous local walk along Dora Creek: Discover the Cooranbong swing bridge!
