The Leggy Point Loop walking track is a walk designed for those who enjoy exploring, rather than a clearly marked path. With no signposts and multiple intersecting tracks, it offers a true sense of discovery. You’ll move through coastal heath, rocky sections, and natural steps that rise and fall along the terrain. Along the way, you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views across Glenrock Beach, where the ocean and cliffs create a constantly changing backdrop.
Getting there and what you need to know
To reach the trail, turn off Burwood Road in Kahibah onto Scout Camp Road. Continue until you reach the car park, where the walking track begins on the right-hand side. The walk is not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs due to uneven terrain, and dogs are not permitted. Before heading out, it’s important to check for any alerts, such as bushfire warnings or track closures through the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, to ensure safe access to the area.
A short loop with plenty to explore
Although the main loop is around 2 km, the experience often extends beyond the defined track. Walkers frequently wander off onto smaller trails to see what else the area reveals. It’s an especially rewarding spring or autumn walk, when the landscape feels alive and vibrant. Keep an eye out for local wildlife, including skinks and land mullets. Known to inhabit the area, you’ll often see them basking among the rocks or darting through the undergrowth.
Glenrock Conservation Area
Glenrock offers so much more beyond the Leggy Point Loop. Discover a network of walking tracks that wind through coastal forest, rocky headlands, and hidden valleys. Take time to explore the area further, and you’ll find tranquil spots and native wildlife. The beautiful Glenrock Lagoon and waterfall are waiting to be discovered. It’s one of our local treasures, perfect for repeat visits in every season.
