When the Pop Culture Festival comes to Lake Mac this year, you’d better buckle up and dust off your favourite character’s outfit! With cosplay becoming more popular than ever, there’ll be plenty of families ready to embrace a day of dressing up and celebrating all things pop culture. I’ve heard whispers that if Dementors descend on Glendale, we’ve got four Ghostbusters ready to save the day. And if that doesn’t do the trick, we’ll just have to call on the Force for a little extra backup!
Cosplay arrives at Hunter Sports Centre
Lake Mac’s Pop Culture Festival is back for another year, and it’s taking over the Hunter Sports Centre!
Expect a day packed with cosplay, entertainment, and plenty of familiar faces, with characters from Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Doctor Who, and Harry Potter set to make appearances. Whether you’re keen to show off your favourite costume, snap a photo with iconic characters, build Lego creations, or dive into role-playing games, there’s something for every age and every kind of pop culture fan.
Dust off your favourite costume and get ready for a fun-filled day that the whole family will enjoy.

Festival highlights
Spend the day immersed in all things pop culture with a packed program of activities and entertainment. Cheer on entrants in the cosplay competition and costume parade, meet incredible characters from across the galaxy with the Star Wars fan groups, and watch thrilling live sword-fighting demonstrations.
Browse impressive movie-inspired vehicles, admire award-winning cosplay costumes and props, and meet fellow fans throughout the day. There’ll also be pop culture market stalls, tabletop gaming, Dungeons & Dragons sessions, creative pop art workshops, and a colourful LEGO exhibition. And keep an eye out for everyone’s favourite paranormal investigators, the Ghostbusters, who will be making an appearance too!
