Belmont Baths
For many years, Belmont Baths has been a popular local haunt nestled on the shores of Lake Mac. Families would put up an umbrella during summer in the 1970s and sit on the foreshore grass soaking in the atmosphere. Fast forward to today, local families still flock in numbers to this peaceful spot. Boasting a new jetty, closed netted swimming area, and landscaped foreshore, our community will continue to enjoy this slice of paradise for generations.

Discovering Belmont Foreshore
You’ll find Belmont Baths on the foreshore on the Eastern side of the lake. Head to Brooks Parade and follow it along until you reach the middle of the foreshore. You’ll find a car park or you can park on the street. Only a short walk along the lake is a fenced ship playground and a ping pong table.
Close by is Belmont Citi Centre where you’ll find fish & chips, a bakery and Subway, to name a few. Directly across the road from the baths are a cafe and two restaurants.

Swimming safely
Belmont lost the original jetty in a superstorm a long time ago, so upon rebuilding the area, new facilities were added including a 70-metre-long jetty and a 45-metre-wide netted swimming enclosure.
The jetty allows adults and children to jump into the water and enjoy a swim without a care. Belmont Baths doesn’t have a lifeguard on duty, so make sure you enter the water safely.

Baths ramp & facilities
We love the ramp that goes down into the water which has been included to allow wheelchair access. There are toilet facilities and a functional undercover area for family gatherings. The amenities building also caters for wheelchairs and storage for an aquatic chair. You’ll also find a BBQ, bench seats, and picnic tables to sit and take in the atmosphere. The landscaped grassy foreshore is a great place to lay a picnic blanket and relax in the sun.

Visiting the baths
If you haven’t had a dip in the baths or a coffee by the foreshore at Belmont, add it to your list. It may become one of your favourite lakeside activities, especially on a hot summer evening. Depending on when you visit, reef shoes are always good for little ones playing along the shoreline. Read more here about Razor Clams in Lake Macquarie.
