Belmont Foreshore’s new Lions Park Playground

On the foreshore of gorgeous Belmont Bay you’ll not only find the Lions Park Playground. With so much to do and see, the refurbished playground is the perfect place to start. The kids are going to love the ship design and they can spot all the sailing boats moored close by. Grab the family, a picnic rug, and some swimmers if the weather is right. See you at Belmont Bay.

Belmont Foreshore

Back in 2018, Belmont Baths and foreshore enjoyed a facelift. With a new jetty, netted swimming area, landscaping and amenities, the foreshore has transformed. Whist this area isn’t huge, the flat path, undercover area, and grassed banks, have become very popular with the local community. You’ll find showers, toilets, BBQ facilities, a coffee shop across the road, and plenty of seating.

Getting to Belmont Lions Park

Belmont lions Park Playground is on Macquarie Drive which is a direct turn off the Pacific Highway at Belmont. There is a small parking area on the foreshore, or street parking. Another option is to park in the Coles carpark and walk for 2min. It’s very popular when the weather is good, so make sure you plan your trip.

Good news, this playground is fully fenced and there is a table inside the area to sit at. The structure resembles a ship, has a double slide, climbing net, and tunnels to climb through.

The kids will also find a nest swing, toddler swing and a regular swing to play on, and a couple of smaller play stations for the little ones.

Lions Park Playground at Belmont is the icing on the cake for a morning out with your family. Let the kids play and explore the foreshore, while you sit back and relax. The view across the bay is spectacular that’s for sure. It’s also a great spot to watch a magic sunset. Why not grab some fish & chips from the Coles complex and enjoy and early dinner.

Marks Oval Playground gets an upgrade and the kids love it!

This playground looks and feels different from a standard playground in Lake Macquarie. Built from a wood ‘look-a-like’ structure, it blends into the surroundings and natural landscape. It was interesting to hear the kids comment on its unique character as well, that’s why Marks Oval Playground is worth the visit.
