Getting to Croudace Bay

Thomas H Halton Park is situated between Valentine and Eleebana on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie. You’ll find a designated parking area at either end of the park, both becoming busy on weekends. With open spaces and wide paths, scooters, bikes and soccer balls are a must.

You’ll find toilets at both ends of the park, one of which is located next to the playground itself. There are lots of bubblers for the kids to use around the playground and plenty of grassed areas for a picnic. The playground is entirely fenced, and hosts 2 BBQ areas within the grounds. Perfect for parties or gatherings.

A short distance walk from the playground you’ll discover a modern skate park and a multi-sports wall. Plus if you’re up for it, a gym station!

A natural wonderland

Nestled amongst the established trees, this playground hosts an abundance of shady seating for parents and families. You’ll find lots of wood features and natural shapes for the kids to climb and explore. Underneath the swings and slides is a spongy cushioned landing, and in other areas soft woodchips. Large sandstone blocks have been used to define areas and give parents somewhere to sit close by. Kids will love following them around and climbing the rocky surfaces.

Kids will love exploring!

Climbing is part of the playground experience and the nets and swings here will be a winner with the kids. They’ll find a dual swing, nest swing, merry-go-round, nested roundabouts, plus an awesome net bridge.

With lots of space and areas for kids to enjoy nature, this playground blends into the environment well.

Watch out for the pirates

Let me tell you first-hand that the pirate ship will not disappoint. It’s massive.

There is so much to explore from the top deck to the tunnel slide, and everything in the hull below. Kids will spend hours discovering every inch of this amazing ship! I’m sure all the pirates and captains around Lake Macquarie will love taking over this vessel.

Fun for the little ones

The water play station is a hit with the little kids. There are 3 pumps and water tracks for multiple groups of kids to enjoy at once. It’s lovely and shady, and nice and easy for the kids to use. Bench seats are adjacent for parents to watch on.
